In my family, there were 23 acres left in an estate which was intestate. As I understand it, distribution of this property is per-stirpes through 2 branches of the family. The taxes are being paid by some of the decedents in one branch and I have a few questions....
1. Is there any president to lock 1 branch out proceeds of the sale this property through failure to pay taxes?
2. Is there any way to omit someone from the branch who is paying, (the "someone" has not submitted taxes) out of proceeds from the sale of the property?
This has been going on since 1958, with about 10 decedents, and now there are something like 32(and you can guess what an utter mess this is....)? Can anyone, anyone with some legal training (JD with some WT&E experience preferred, LOL!!) please answer these questions and offer advice on how to proceed with property distribution/sale??
