The Nexus 10 tablet?will be available soon and the Samsung-made tablet boasts an even-better screen than the Retina Display on the big iPads. The first wave of reviews are out but it's not clear that the latest Google tablet is a better option than what Apple offers.?
CNET?praises the design and the screen's 2560 x 1600 resoultion. They say that screen is the sharpest you can find on any tablet and the device is packed with high-end specs. On the downside, the Nexus 10 doesn't always perform as well as it should and there's a dearth of tablet-ready apps.?
That seems to be the general consensus among all the reviews, as The Verge?also says the display and build quality are excellent but there's not really much to do with the Nexus 10 because of the lack of tablet-specific apps.?
"Google's now proven conclusively that it can design great Android hardware, but until developers prove they can design great Android software it's still hard to recommend the Nexus 10 over an iPad," The Verge wrote.?
Over at Engadget, it's the same song: fantastic screen but the lack of tablet apps is a problem and it doesn't perform as well as it should.
"At $400 to $500, the Nexus 10 is actually on par with many other 10-inch Android competitors - even a little more expensive than some - and, with average performance in most areas and sub-par battery life, it's relying on that incredibly high resolution and fresh Android build to set it apart," Engadget wrote. "Sadly, neither is enough to distance this tablet from the competition."
Any of you planning to pick up the Nexus 10 tablet??
